Ride Onboard A BMW M4 DTM Car For A Stunning 6min 15sec 'Ring Lap
DTM driver Augusto Farfus took to the Norschleife in a specially-prepared M4 DTM car, clocking a sensational 6min 15sec bridge to gantry lap time
Before you get excited about how close this lap is to Stefan Bellof’s legendary 6min 11sec record, it’s worth remembering that a ‘bridge to gantry’ lap cuts off a significant portion of the track.
Nurburgring blogger Bridge to Gantry reckons this would amount to a 6:35 - 6:40 full Norschleife lap, but as a counterpoint, Farfus wasn’t flat out for the whole lap.
The lap was part of some promotional activities for Shell, but we’d love to see Farfus head back out in this ‘Ring-prepped M4 DTM for another lap without any lifts…

As much as a 6:11 is a bit FARF(us)-etched, I’d love to see him try.
I think the 6:11 record is the whole 20km with the long straight, not btg. The title is a little misleading and I got hyped at first aswell

Now everybody is going to know you call me Ninho
One of the best Nordschleife laps ever.
There are currently rumours about WTCC adapting Class One reglement like DTM is actually supposed to and Super GT already has.
Although I like WTCC alot more than DTM as it’s far more exciting this could bring back actual DTM style cars back to the Nordschleife which would be nice.
Holy cow that would be amazing. so many manufacturers competing in one big class with tight regulations, that would really make it interesting.

There are so many go pros in there it would run the ring in under 6 min without them
