This Roll Cage Saved A Guy From A 190mph Barrel Roll Of Death

What you're looking at are the twisted remains of a Honda Insight that barrel rolled at around 190mph. Brian Gillespie, the man behind the wheel, suffered a collapsed lung and a large gash to his leg.

Attempting to crack 200mph, Gillespie was driving his Honda Insight at the El Mirage dry lakebed in the Mojave Desert. As his car hit 190mph, it suddenly veered right and flipped 15 times.

After spending a week in hospital, Brian was allowed home once doctors were confident his lung could function without intervention. It's testament to the astounding strength of the Honda's substantial roll cage that he survived this horrific accident.
