Ron Burgundy Car Ad: 59 Per Cent Of The Time, It Works Every Time
Dodge has seen a 59 per cent rise in Durango sales since Burgundy's ads. Don't act like you're not impressed
These days advertisers look for new ways to reach consumers in an age where on-demand television allows viewers to skip ad breaks.
Fortunately, Dodge stumbled on the Ron Burgundy effect. You may remember your favourite Anchorman became the face of Dodge's Durango, fronting adverts that became instant online hits. Well it turns out Burgundy is the ultimate car salesman - sales of Durangos were up by a whopping 59 per cent for October, when the advertising campaign was launched.
Will Ferrell's campaign is continuing, so it'll be interesting to see if sales continue to grow as the video hype subsides. In the meantime, check out one of his latest offerings for the Yodge range. What? "I'm pretty sure it's a soft D..."
