The Russian 'Viking-29031' Off-Roader Makes The Land Rover Defender Look Like A Kid's Toy

Built by a company called Atom Impulse, this chunky off-roader looks like a serious bit of kit

While it may look like an entertaining way of traversing tough terrain, the rather un-catchily-named ‘Viking 29031’ is designed to meet a very practical need. Many settlements in Russia are extremely remote and difficult to get to, so when personnel or cargo need to be delivered, a rather serious vehicle is needed. This is where the Viking comes in. It’ll carry up to 850kg of cargo and seven people over pretty much any ground you stick under its massive - self-inflating - tyres, and it’s also amphibious.
