A RWD Lamborghini Aventador Won't Happen, Because It'd Be Too Much To Handle
All-wheel drive may have been a Lamborghini staple for a while now, but cars like the Huracan LP580-2 have proven that Sant’Agata Bolognese is happy to dabble with rear-driven stuff upon occasion. But what about the Aventador? Might the Italian firm’s flagship one day spawn a two-wheel drive version? Apparently not.
Speaking to Australian publication Drive, Lamborghini’s chief engineer Maurizio Reggiani said that a rear-wheel drive Aventador would simply be too “difficult to manage” when driven hard.
“The four-wheel-drive system is the most safe and performance [focused] system we can have in their car,” he added, concluding that dropping the front driven wheels would mean: “the traction control would be so invasive.”
It seems a shame, particularly when Lamborghini’s rivals are so happy to push out high-powered rear-wheel drive machines. The Ferrari 488 Pista for instance has a power level approaching that of the Aventador S, and it’s the same case with the McLaren 720S. Then there’s Woking’s hardcore Senna, which has more power than even the Aventador SV.
We might yet see a hardcore, track-only Lamborghini along similar lines to the Ferrari FXX K and Senna GT R, though. In the same interview, commercial director Federico Foschini refused to go into detail about any future plans, but did lay down a tasty little hint. “For sure we are working on a lot of scenarios, we’re not here today to discuss this kind of project…I think you will see,” he said.

Calling the Urus stupid makes no sense. It’s a well thought out and calculated project for Lamborghini.
To be honest Audi has influenced Lamborghini a lot, nowadays most of their cars are AWD, which wasn’t the case back when Lamborghini wasn’t owned by Audi, back then the only AWD car they made was the LM002. Pretty much as soon as Audi got hold of Lamborghini they started with AWD cars with the Diablo VT. I don’t like how Lamborghini is nowadays if I’m honest..
Sooooo, we can make an Aventador J (NO WINDSHIELD), we can make a spaceship (Lamborghini Egoista) and we can make full carbon fiber body Lamborghinis but we can’t make an RWD Aventador?

They are probably going to make a RWD Aventador, but only as a concept car. So about 10 of them will be produced. Oh yeah and they will cost about 2.5 milion pounds. Oh yeah but you cant buy it because there already sold out.#LamborghiniLogic

Too much to handle my a$$… Koenigseggs produce more than 1000HP and are RWD. The new Corvette ZR1 makes 755, why a 700HP Lambo will be too much to handle? I’m not a pro Driver but I smell bull$hit.

The issue is about traction. Anyone can slap a 9,999 hp W24 into an RWD car.
