The Savage 542bhp Range Rover Sport SVR Just Clocked A Record-Breaking 8min 14sec 'Ring Time
The angriest version of the Range Rover has become the fastest production SUV to ever lap the Nurburgring

Even if you find the endless Nurburgring records a little tedious, you have to admit that this one is pretty impressive. The top-spec Range Rover - which is due to grace Land Rover showrooms with its imposing presence next year - has hauled its bulky SUV frame around the Green Hell in just 8 minutes and 14 seconds. Need a little context? That puts it in the same ballpark as cars like the Mercedes C63 AMG and the old E60 M5.

This monster is powered by the same 5.0-litre V8 you’ll find under the bonnet of various R-S Jaguars, here kicking out 542bhp. It’s thought that the SVR will do 0-62mph in just 4.5 seconds, and is almost certainly packing a plethora of suspension and braking upgrades to give it better on-road manners.
