Say Hello To The Jaguar F-Type GT4 Racing Car

Invictus Games Racing will enter two specially-prepared F-Types into the British GT Championship next year, piloted by wounded veterans
Say Hello To The Jaguar F-Type GT4 Racing Car

What we have here is a racing car that’s been created by a curious mix of parties. It’s a GT4-spec Jaguar F-Type, the result of a collaboration between Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations, James Holder - the co-founder of clothing firm Superdry - and the Invictus Games Foundation.

The project was commissioned by Holder - a keen GT racer himself - with the intention of getting “a select group of wounded, injured and sick veterans of the British Armed Forces” competing in the British GT championship to aid their recovery.

So in other words, it’s an awesome car created for an awesome purpose. The two cars being built for the job have been specially adapted for the veterans too, enabling “the wounded drivers will compete equally with their able-bodied counterparts.”

The car is based on a road-going F-Type SVR, albeit rear-wheel drive-converted to satisfy FIA GT4 regulations. The 567bhp output of the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 will have to be brought down via the use of restrictor plates, too.

The car will make its competition debut during the opening round of this year’s British GT season at Oulton Park on 31 March.
