Senna's Legacy - The NSX
I would agree with anyone that F1 peaked in the 90’s, and the pinnacle of that was Ayrton Senna.
It may even have been the day he died in 1994 at the San Marino Grand Prix that F1 started it’s decline. I was watching, like millions of other people, the end of a life and the end of an era.
The fear and then the tears though; they were for Senna.
The NSX was developed by Honda with Senna, and his insistence on work with the chassis and suspension is most likely why it became one of the legendary drivers cars.
The filmmaker chose the Nurburgring, where Senna did some of his testing on the original NSX, as the basis for this evocative montage and soundtrack tribute to late race car driver.
Prepare for a lump in your throat then…
Turn the volume up and hit play.
