Sharpen Your BMW Stereotypes As You Watch This Z4 Driver Cause A Huge Multi-Car Accident

After joining a slow-moving motorway queue from another, faster lane going in a different direction, this Z4 driver changes his mind, moves out into flowing traffic and causes a dramatic crash

Among the favourite BMW stereotypes are those that say drivers of the Munich brand’s cars don’t know how to use their indicators or mirrors. At least one of those has a stack of new ammunition thanks to this video.

The camera car sees the red Z4 join the traffic in front of it on the M60 motorway, otherwise known as the Manchester Ring Road. It slots into a gap normally, leaving a faster-moving lane that goes off in a different direction.

But after a minute – skip to 1:10 for the action, which then repeats – the driver decides they’ve had enough and want to try a different route, flipping their indicator on and pulling across back into the free-flowing lane… apparently without using their mirrors properly.

The resulting smash with a Citroen DS 3 is completely needless, and other cars also get caught up in the carnage. The DS is bounced right up in the air by the force of the blow, spinning off and hitting a van and an unseen car in the queue ahead.

Miraculously, the BMW isn’t spun around. It does take heavy damage to the right rear, though. What was the driver thinking?!

I like how that one car thinks about pulling out right after a guy pulled out and got hit twice lol

but the yellow car (it’s too blurry for me to see but i think it’s a renault, idk bc america) was changing lanes at the same time as the Z4. it’s partly the yellow car’s fault, too.

though it’s mostly the Z4’s fault for changing lanes, crossing a solid white line.

Speed does not kill.. Traffic jam does.. Hence, we need an Island or country with no traffic jams! Who’s with me?!

Damn, hope the DS driver is OK. That didn’t look like a nice and slow crash

Looks like the DS3 was maybe moving from the middle to the inside lane so when the BMW went the inside lane was clear

Credit were credit is due at least he used his optional upgrade part. The indicator. Not many BMW owners have them or they would use them like normal people.

Like a pool table … hope nobody got killed. Also a bit sloppy to cross a white line.

Was the DS3 in lane 1 or did it move from lane 2 into lane 1 as the z4 was pulling out? The Z4 indicated, waiting as if looking in the mirrors then pulled into lane one accelerating reasonably to build up speed. I’m not convinced this is 100% the BMW’s fault.

The DS3 might have just moved over, but whatever the case, it was entirely within the left hand lane when the BMW pulled out (you can see the tyre marks the DS3 makes when it hits). The BMW also crossed a solid white line, and that in its own right puts the fault 100% at the BMW’s feet.

Wish there was a wider view. It almost seems like the DS was changing lanes at the same time? If they were I would have expected them to just go back into the right lane, so maybe not.

But it looked like the yellow car changed lanes and didnt see the Z4 moving out. The yellow car came from the right, not the rear.
