Someone's Sticking A Ferrari V8 Into A Toyota GT86 And It's Going To Be Spectacular

Ryan Tuerck's latest GT86 drift missile will feature a Ferrari F136 V8 from a 458 Italia under the bonnet

GT86 V8 swaps are nothing new, but the conversions we’ve seen so far have mostly involved GM LS engines and other ‘Murican eight-bangers. But a Ferrari V8 transplant? We’re pretty sure that hasn’t been done before in a Toyobaru, and just to increase the ‘WTF’ factor a little further, it isn’t the more obvious V8 from the front-engined California. Instead, the team behind the project opted for the more highly strung, mid-engined version of the F136 from the 458.

It’ll be a more exciting engine, but there’s an issue: now it’s being put in a front-mounted configuration, the air intakes are pointing toward the cabin. As a result, you’ll see that part of the windscreen frame has been cut away so the damn thing fits. So it’s sure as hell not going to be an easy job, but we’re sure it’ll be worth it in the end.

Since there’s not a lot to see just yet, here’s some jaw-dropping Ryan Tuerck GT86 drift footage shot at New Hampshire Motor Speedway:

Don’t see why they don’t just make a custom manifold. I don’t care if it’s from a Ferrari I’ll do custom parts to it.
And to add hate I’d stance a Ferrari, Roll the fenders, cut the bumpers, gut the interior, and swap it with a Japanese motor.
That statement wasn’t necessary but i’m seeing a lot of stance hate being posted on here by the same people who say “Respect all cars.”

Because a custom manifold would be taking the easy way out. Due to how high this engine sits in this car I really hope they do a bad ass intake poking through the hood setup. It would be so cool to see that poking through some cuts in the hood.

Japanese and Italian? So it’ll be badly styled AND unreliable?

Because the intake port pattern doesn’t allow for it.
