Someone's V8 Swapped A Porsche Cayman And It's Brilliantly Sacrilegious
In a move that's likely to make your average Porsche purist explode with indignation, this Cayman has been given a Ford Coyote V8 in place of its stock flat-six
We haven’t been able to find out a huge amount about this build, other than the dyno results obtained by ‘Power By The Hour Performance’, based in Boynton Beach, Florida. It managed an impressive 428hp at the wheels - which will be over 500hp at the crank. In a dinky Cayman, that’s an absurd figure.
It’s worth noting this isn’t the only V8-swapped Cayman out there: do a little digging and you’ll find Caymans with Audi V8s, Caymans with LS engines and even a Cayman with Porsche’s own ‘M28.41’ eight-pot. But a Coyote V8? That’s a new one on us.
Right now though, we just want to see it in action…

Only takes 5 sets of tires to get to 60
Pretty impressive acceleration/tire annihilation ratio, the poor sods in those V-tec minis need at least 23 sets of tires to get to 60

Sounds good, has good performance…Yeah….That checks out.
Still waiting for a W12 swap…
VW put a W12 in a Golf, so why not put it in a Cayman
Not exactly a W12… but it does house a Murciélago V12. Yes, that’s a Fiat 500 lol.
Why stop at a W12 if there is a W16 in the house ^^
because it’s to heavier and more expensive compared to a V8 or even V12’s out there
put the 917K flat 12 in there
As much as I don’t agree with mixing parts across manufacturers, this is pretty cool. Add in a set of turbos, and it’ll be one of the fastest Caymans around.
At least no ls.
Only in american
Blasphemy!
This is so wrong it becomes right
THIS is good!!
A Coyote V8, for some more HOWL! :-D
im sorry
