This Special Edition Rolls-Royce Dawn Is A Rich Audiophile's Dream
Because it’s a national holiday here in the UK, and because car news is a little thin on the ground as a result, we’re afraid we’re going to have to tell you about a tenuous special edition Rolls-Royce.
Arriving on the heels of the Cullinan SUV, it’s called the Dawn ‘Inspired by Music.’ Death metal, perhaps? Gangster rap? 1980s jungle? We jest. This two-door drop-top is in the realm of contemporary jazz, according to Rolls’ newest promotional film. Because of course it is, you philistine.
Rolls has done this before, with a similar ‘Inspired by Music’ special iteration of the Wraith. We never covered it, presumably because there were no news-light Bank Holiday days at the time it was launched. Again, we kid: this really does look like a lovely piece of kit.
For the unusual promo video at the top, Rolls turned to its own anechoic chamber. The special edition Dawn was rolled into this sound-deadening space and a hyper-sensitive microphone recorded its various noises: windows descending, wipers swishing and even things like the in-built umbrella popping out of its hidden home in the door. All this, mixed with some light jazz in the hands of a producer, created a very Rolls-Royce original track.
Naturally, this is also a Rolls with a special stereo. The Bespoke Audio setup is the best system the company sells, and while we’re not familiar with it we’d expect it to be pretty amazing. Copper, used in many audio systems because it’s a great electrical conductor, has been chosen as the colour for the exterior and the speaker covers. If you don’t want copper body paint, your plan B is Andalusian White.
Now, all of this begs an obvious question. CTzens, we open up the floor to you: what would be the first track you’d play in the Dawn ‘Inspired by Music’ once you’d taken delivery?
Comments
I would love to play Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold in this Rolls-Royce.
I would play stuff like Pink Floyd, Queen, Kansas, Dio, Black Sabbath,
Dean Winchester?
Pink Floyd is always a solid Choice…
Listening to Needled 24/7 by Children of Bodom in a Rolls Royce is on my bucket list now
¨The warhog run¨ from halo 3… look it up xD
Nothing.. Smash a sport exhaust under it and seeking some tunnels.
Blasting Unbreakable by Sabaton would be my first order of business.
I’d play “Un Millón de Años Luz” by Soda Stereo
Bone Cult - Anu Is King
because why the hell not :P
But does it have speakers from Bowers & Wilkins or Bang & Olufsen? I think not! >:D
I’d play the Soviet anthem for maximum irony. On a serious note, probably Metal Command by Exodus.
