This Spectacular Video Shows How The McLaren P1 Bagged A Stunning 'Ring Time
With so many car manufactures banging on about Nurburgring laptimes it can be easy to get sick of hearing about the famous Green Hell. However, this beautifully shot video from McLaren reminds us why this place is legendary.
Filmed recently while McLaren was attempting to bag a sub-seven minute 'Ring time with its P1 hypercar, it gives us a fantastic look at this hybrid beast being thrashed from every angle.
The P1 has a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 and an electric motor, providing a combined 903bhp. It also has a damn sweet rear-end.
By the end of the video McLaren will only say that they achieved a sub-seven minute lap - there's no specific time. However, unofficial recent reports suggest that the P1 managed a 06min 47sec time, a massive 10 seconds quicker than the current official record-holder, the Porsche 918.
