Speedkore’s 1400bhp Dodge Demon Will Hit 8-Sec Quarter-Miles
While there’s no such absolute as too much power, this modified Dodge Demon puts over 1200bhp to the rear wheels. And that’s a lot.
It’s the work of tuner Speedkore and will cross the quarter-mile line in just 8.77 seconds at 161mph. That hacks almost a second off the standard Demon’s time of 9.65 seconds. How, you ask? The standard (vast) supercharger has been swapped out for two T4 turbos mounted in front of the engine.
The results are dramatic. The Demon’s 840bhp in race tune has been bumped to almost 1400bhp at the flywheel. Transmission and other losses amount to about as much power as a Fiesta ST has in the first place.
Weirdly, it sounds a bit like a canal boat at idle, but when it gets going the noise is biblical.
Rebodied in naked carbonfibre panels, the car is due to be shown at this year’s SEMA starting on 30 October. We don’t yet know how much weight the carbon conversion has saved, but expect to find out at the show. In the meantime the full build is detailed on Speedkore’s YouTube channel.
