This Steampunk BMW Z4 Is The Latest Car On Our Want List
Nowadays, manufacturers pump out special editions of their cars left, right and centre. There are also countless aftermarket tuners that chuck huge wheels and garish bodykits onto expensive sports cars.
It therefore takes a lot to create something that stands out for all the right reasons, and that’s something that’s been achieved by Polish designer Carlex and its ‘steampunk’ BMW Z4.
Officially called ‘Punk Z’, this particular roadster gets the copper treatment, transforming it to look like something out of a Bioshock game. The dash, door handles and centre console have been trimmed in brass and copper, with genuine rivets holding each section in place. Even the roll bars and steering wheel get the steampunk look, while the seatbelts and interior stitching have been colour-matched to fit the theme.
The exterior hasn’t escaped Carlex’s touch, either. The Z4 is wrapped in a matte-black vinyl, while the roof and alloy wheels get a copper-coloured design.
Carlex has been known to go a bit wild with its designs, but we love the copper coolness of this steampunk effort. Do you approve?
