This Stunning Speedster Concept Is Aston Martin's 100th Birthday Present To Itself
If you're fortunate enough to reach the ripe old age of 100, the most you can expect is a nice little letter from Buckingham Palace. For Aston Martin that just wasn't enough, and so in a completely selfish act it commissioned this birthday present to itself; the CC100 Speedster Concept.
Debuted today at the Nordschleife in Germany prior to the gruelling Nurburgring 24 hour race, the Speedster sticks two fingers up at downsizing trends with its naturally aspirated 6-litre V12 that takes it to 62mph in just over 4 seconds. Keep your foot to the floor and you'll hit 180mph, which should make a mess of your expensively coiffed hair - this concept has no windscreen.
Stylistically the CC100 brings back memories of the SLR Stirling Moss edition, however Aston's designers actually took cues from the 1959 DBR1 Le Mans winner as well as exhibiting hints of future Aston Martins. If there's one thing we hope they keep, it's the Swiss cheese interior which is best described as 'airy'.
Check out the video below to see the CC100 go from paper to fully functioning concept in an impressive 6 months.
