This Supercharged Cadillac Escalade Makes A Camaro ZL1 Look Slow
It’s time to revisit the age-old, largely pointless but always fun question of ‘can a tuned version of a slow car beat a standard version of a fast car?’
The answer, as we’ve seen many times, is yes. Of course it can. If you put a Dodge Demon engine in the middle of an all-wheel drive Ford Fiesta on racing slicks (now that would be a project), it will out-drag most things.
It may not surprise you, then, to discover that a Hennessey-supercharged Cadillac Escalade, with its extra traction and 800bhp to call upon, can make a standard Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE look a bit silly.
The difference is pretty huge, but to steal a wonderfully mixed metaphor from the classic action parody movie Hot Shots: Part Deux, if the two cars hit a course with corners, the upper hand would be on the other foot.
