The Surprisingly Dark Cars 3 Trailer Is Here
Whether you were a kid when it came out or - like me - not quite a kid anymore, I’m sure most of us petrolheads dig Cars. A Disney film featuring anthropomorphised automobiles had the potential to be awful, but it summed up what we love about those tin boxes on wheels very successfully.
Cars 2 on the other hand was a stinker, leaving behind the original’s motorsport storyline for some weird crap about spies. But Cars 3? If you check out the surprisingly dark teaser trailer above, it looks like a whole different ball game. It even looks to be tackling the rise of electric vehicles.
The blurb on the video upload gives us further reason to hope this will bring the series closer to the first film:
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. This is supposed to be rated R in my opinion…
Prediction: McQueen gets seriusly injured in the race, and to race again, he must turn itself into an hybrid hypercar in order to defeat the eletrics, and there will be a training sequence dedicated to Mcqueen learning how to use his new eletric power.
That’s what I was thinking as well.
