While it’s the madder stuff at the massive SEMA show in Las Vegas that tends to be the most attention grabbing, there’s plenty that’s not quite so ostentatious.

Take this Acura NSX, for example. It’s been given a “GT3-inspired” makeover by Arizona NSX gurus ScienceofSpeed, and what’s been done to the car ups the visual aggression nicely without taking things too far.

Its body kit includes aero fins on the front splitter, carbonfibre “ducted rocker panels” at the sides, a big rear wing and a new diffuser. The suspension has been lowered by over an inch meanwhile, but don’t worry - there’s a lift kit to avoid you smashing the front bumper to pieces on the first speed bump you find.

The exterior has been finished off with a set of Advan GT forged wheels measuring 21-inch at the rear and 20-inch at the front, wrapped in super-sticky Pirelli Trofeo R rubber. On the inside meanwhile, you’ll find black leather Recaro Pole Position bucket seats with blue accents. We’ll do without the blue bits, thanks - they give off too much of a men’s washbag kinda vibe…

It’s ever so slightly more powerful than before, too. The hybrid powertrain is now good for 602bhp and 507lb ft of torque, increases of 37bhp and 31lb ft respectively. To extract the extra poke from the 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, the team at ScienceofSpeed developed their own stainless steel exhaust system, and added a liquid-injected intercooler system.

What do you think of this fettled NSX?

Not really, and it’s development probably put more financial strain on them then they will ever profit off the few sales.

Nice, not over the top but not too restrained, either. Love the wing, it’s not huge but not too small either. Enough to be functional, in other words!

Maybe my favorite present car, its among the most beautiful machines of this world. The bhp is way too much for a remake of a drift car, but its still great.
There’s a big difference between trying to keep the power up, so you will drift through the U turn, and trying to keep the power down so you dont start spinning midways the turn… way too much power.

Finally! People are modding the NSX! I’d like to see more electric powertrain mods in the future, perhaps like a supercap swap from the battery to reduce weight (would reduce electric range but who tf cares, because racecar)
