TechArt's GrandGT Is A Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo With Added Rage
The Porsche Panamera has come a long way, hasn’t it? It was once the ugly duckling of the Porsche range, before being smartened up for the second-generation and being made into a beautiful estate car thanks to the Sport Turismo.
But if the Panamera ST is just a little too subtle for you, don’t worry, as German tuner TechArt has given the Porsche wagon a tremendously brash makeover. We rather like it.
It sports a lairy new bodykit complete with de rigueur wide arches, and it has - of course - been slammed onto some 22-inch alloy wheels. The front bumper has been restyled, while at the back you’ll find a new diffuser element teaming up with carbonfibre tailpipes on a titanium exhaust system.
Our favourite bit? That’d be the interior, which has been coated in glorious brown Nappa leather. Looks expensive, doesn’t it?
All of this is based on the Panamera Turbo, which with 542bhp, isn’t exactly a slouch. But if you do want to up the performance, TechArt will do that by raising the power of the twin-turbo V8 to 631bhp, and the torque to 664lb ft. As a result, 0-62mph will drop from 3.6 to 3.4 seconds, exactly the same as the range-topping Turbo S E-Hybrid, but without all that hybrid malarkey.
The car will make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show, no doubt alongside some even less discrete creations.
