Teen Who Stole Part Of The Paul Walker Porsche Carrera GT Wreckage Has Been Jailed For 6 Months

A judge has come down hard on the guys who stole a piece of the wrecked Porsche Carrera GT while its tow truck was stopped at a red light

In late November last year, Fast and Furious star Paul Walker lost his life in a horrific crash. The Porsche Carrera GT that he and friend Roger Rodas were travelling in left the road and hit a tree before bursting into flames. Once police had finished investigating the crash site the car was loaded onto a truck and transported away from the scene.

While en route to its final destination, the tow truck stopped at a red light, where two men stole roof panels from the wreckage. Daily Mail reports that the truck driver saw the pair steal parts, and drove straight to a police station to make the following statement:

‘At one point the driver of the tow truck stopped at the red light E/B Newhall Ranch Road at McBean Parkway. A witness saw a male exit a vehicle that was following the tow truck. The male grabbed a piece of the wrecked Porsche off the tow truck bed. The male drove away with the stolen vehicle part.’

The first to be charged is 18-year-old Jameson Witty of California, who has been sentenced to six months in jail. As well as the footage above, Witty posted a photo of the stolen roof part on his Instagram profile, helping to seal his fate.

The unnamed second man is expected to receive the same sentence when he goes before a judge in October.
