The Tesla Model X Is A 752bhp Supercar Shaming Crossover

If you want a ridiculously fast SUV, you have to accept the fact that you’ll be spending a huge amount on fuel. And upsetting almost every environmentalist on the planet. The Range Rover Sport SVR; Porsche’s Cayenne Turbo S; the BMW X6 M - they’re all stupidly quick, but also stupidly inefficient, and now this trio is about to have a very green competitor: the Tesla Model X. Yep, thanks to some configurator images - released by Inside EVs - we now have confirmation that the Model S-based crossover will be ballistically quick.

The configurator is open to customers who have reserved the ‘Signature Series’ Model X, revealing that the crossover will have a 752bhp (762hp) dual motor (and therefore all-wheel drive) setup, plus a 90 kWh battery. It’ll have a 240 mile range, a 155mph top speed, and will be able to crack 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds. Unless of course you spend an extra $10,000 to upgrade to ‘Ludicrous Mode’, which drops the 0-60 sprint to just 3.2 seconds.

The price for this? $132,000 (there’s no word on UK pricing just yet), although these signature editions carry a $25,000 premium over the regular Model Xs. A lot of money, but considering all the performance and those gullwing doors, maybe that’s not so bad.
