Test Out One Of This Year's Hottest Driving Games 'The Crew' During Closed Beta
For those of you excited about the release of The Crew on 11th November, but unable to wait that long to take a test drive, there may be hope. Publisher Ubisoft is currently offering gamers a chance to experience the closed beta period for the PC, Xbox One or PS4. Last month was the first opportunity for PC players to join the beta experience, which lasted only a few days. Now, Ubisoft has reopened registration for a second time to gather more valuable feedback before the official release.
In case you’ve missed it, here is a brief rundown of The Crew. The idea is that you join an underground street racing team and assert your position amongst other players by taking on skill challenges and missions in a massive open-world map that is essentially a modified United States.
There is nothing to restrict you to roads, as every inch is ready to explore from city to mountains to coasts. You’ll get to race officially licensed vehicles by Nissan, Ford, Chevy, Aston Martin, Ferrari, BMW and many more. As you take on more challenges, you earn the right to improve your ride with five different parts types: street, performance, dirt, raid and circuit. Check out the video below to get a look at The Crew in action.
If you were lucky enough to receive a key to the first closed beta and redeemed it on Uplay, you will have automatic access to the second round. Everyone else can register here for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Not everyone will be chosen to participate, and the only certain way to be invited to the beta experience is by pre-ordering the game through Steam.
The above video tells you exactly what you can expect from the beta version, and how those things will be different with the final release of the game. There are already two open PvP (player vs player) areas where you can challenge other drivers to a race, and there will be no restrictions on multiplayer gaming. If your friends are also in the closed beta, you can play with them at any time.
Be sure to register now for the PC and mark your calendar for August 25th. Then head to the CT Steam Group to let us know if you received an access key so that we can form our own crew to go exploring this massive map together. See you then!
