There's Almost Nothing In This Gen 1 NSX Vs Type R Drag Race
The first-generation Honda NSX’s official power figure of 276bhp looks pretty modest these days, doesn’t it? The actual output was widely understood to be over 300, but even so, that’s comparable to Honda’s mighty hot hatch - the 316bhp FK8 Civic Type R.
This, of course, means a drag race simply has to happen. And handily, the folks at Car Wow have done just that, using the same 2005 Honda UK heritage NSX we tested a few years ago.
We won’t be giving away the results, because there’s almost nothing in it at the end of the standing-start race. We’re also shown a rolling-start race - which isn’t quite so close - and a very evenly-matched brake test.

Well technically its a near 30 year old sports car so I’m not too surprised tbh
As the 2005 NSX was Basically a 1990 NSX with some VERY VERY minor tweaks to handling and fixed headlamps
A 2029 CivicTR will be close to nows NSeX is what will happen

Well to be fair the old NSX wasn’t a Very Fast Car in the Straight line
It was more of a momentum car, where you could drive as fast as you could(well not too fast) through corners, like an MX-5
So im not too surprised if the Type R wins

Love them both equally, but give me a White or Black NSX and I’d die happy.
And this kids is where tuners starts making their work , jswap kit with a low comp centrifugal j32 or j35 , a set of coilovers ,some chassis bracing an LSD and a set of good tyres . And at this point the little civic will eat s**t 😂😂
