These Famous F1 Liveries Look Incredible On A 2017 Car
This year’s new Formula 1 cars certainly look meaner and more aggressive than their predecessors, with new aero and wider tyres.
Covers have been coming off the new 2017 beasts all week, revealing a drastically new shape for the cars and – in most cases – exciting new liveries.
But, would they look even better with famous liveries from the past? Designer Sean Bull has taken a look at what iconic F1 colour schemes would look like on these new cars.
He used the new Renault RS.17 as a base and the results are absolutely awesome.
Williams fans will be pleased to see that the classic FW14 and FW16 liveries look wonderful on the 2017 car.
The title-winning McLaren MP4/4 with the Marlboro colours and the black and white West livery of the MP4-13 look especially striking too.
Off course, it wouldn’t be a look back at famous F1 liveries without the orange Arrows A21, green Jordan 191 and bright yellow Jordan 199.
There’s also the John Player Special colour scheme of the Lotus 98T, plus more recent favourites – the dominant Ferrari F2002 and championship-winning Renault R26.

The 7up one is my favourite! BTW am I the only run around here who thinks that the dorsal fin completely ruins the cars?
You’re not alone I imagine they will disappear as quickly as they have in the past
