We’ve been waiting to get hands-on with the finished version of Project Cars for months now, and were gutted when the release date was put back to March. The crowd-funded project allowed early adopters to play the game as it underwent its transformation from basic graphics and gameplay to the photo-realistic version we see today.

All that footage, however, has been captured on high-end PCs, and with the new generation of consoles getting their own version of the game, there was always the worry that some of that gloss might be lost. These official Xbox One screenshots prove those worries should be put to bed, however, as Cars doesn’t appear to have lost much of its stunning visual impact on console. Some of the edges look a little more jagged (look at the wing mirror stalks on the McLaren), but we had the chance to get hands-on with the PS4 version recently at Comic Con and it’s smooth as silk running at 60fps.
