These Official Z06 Pictures Should Come With A NSFW Warning
We've seen the leaked images and we've seen the leaked specs, but finally, the C7 Corvette Z06 has been officially revealed at the Detroit Auto Show.
Its 6.2-litre, supercharged 'LT4' V8 is all-new, and churns out "at least" 625bhp and 635lb/ft of torque. That's not only a great deal more than the standard 450bhp C7 Stingray, but also not far off the 638bhp C6 ZR1.
That can only mean that Chevrolet is breeding a monster for the eventual C7 ZR1; 700bhp or more is a real possibility. Performance figures are yet to be released for the Z06, but with the standard C7 already doing 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds, expect this car to do the same in more like 3.2 seconds.
It'll be available with either a 7-speed manual gearbox, or an 8-speed automatic. The Z06 also has a removable roof section, should you want to get closer to that angry V8 noise.
The Z06 will go on sale next year for a currently-undisclosed price. For the time being, you can engross yourselves in these glorious images of Chevrolet's new supercar.
