The anticipated 650S Spider has been unveiled at the Geneva motor show and while a lot of you aren't sure of the 650S coupe version's looks, you'll agree that the Spider's roof chop has resulted in a better looking machine.

McLaren claims that the car's carbonfibre MonoCell chassis works in such a way that the loss of the roof won't make any difference to torsional rigidity. The roof itself is a two-piece folding hardtop, which can be raised or lowered in 17 seconds, while the car is stationary or driving at speeds of up to 19mph.

Performance from the 641bhp, 500lb/ft 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 is unchanged, and the weight has increased by only 40kg. That means 0-62mph is still dispatched in three seconds dead, and 0-124mph in 8.6 seconds. Top speed is lower, but don't panic, it's only a 3mph deficit to 204mph.

At £215,250, the 650S Spider is just over £20k more than coupe.
