Top Gear Gives Us A First Glimpse At Spinoff Show ‘Extra Gear’
The new series of Top Gear hits our TV screens on May 29th and now more juicy information and a teaser trailer has been released for its spinoff show, ‘Extra Gear’.
Presented by YouTube favourites Rory Reid and Chris Harris, the show will air on BBC Three – via BBC iPlayer and the BBC Three website – directly after Top Gear has finished.
Lasting 30 minutes, Extra Gear will be filmed each week at the Top Gear studio and will “bring lots of behind-the scenes content” to our laptop, tablet and phone screens.
Top Gear says the new show will feature exclusive new footage, interviews, and specially recorded films. Overseas will also be able to see Extra Gear on BBC America and BBC Brit.
Reid explains:
“The Top Gear fans are some of the keenest in the world and with this show I’m giving them a chance to really get a peek behind the curtain.
“I’m looking forward to showing them how the show is made and what goes on behind the scenes, giving viewers a different perspective on some of the coolest cars on the planet.”

“Extra Gear” is a terrible name. “Overdrive” would’ve been better.

Spin off show ends up being better than the actual show
Extra gear > Top gear.
mmm…behind the curtain? So assume these will be series that are meant as if they were behind the scenes where Three Idiots didn’t drove themselves? I know the answer - highly unlikely, because this is entirely something new, no behind scenes, nothing behind the curtain, it simply seems to be a different perspective, seems less of a funny show that Trio did, and more aggressive approach with cars…
They are just trying to mix fifth gear and topgear in the hopes of making up for the old trio.
This might actually be better than the main top gear ?
and i still have no idea who chris harris is
Le Mans Driver, go to youtube and search Chris Harris on Cars. I’ll include a link.

ExtraFlop instead of ExtraGear
Anyone else think it should have been called Overdrive?
