Top Gear's New Presenters 'To Be' Jodie Kidd, Guy Martin And Philip Glenister
Reports on the The Sunday Express suggest that the new presenters of Top Gear could be Jodie Kidd (current presenter of ‘The Classic Car Show with Quentin Wilson), Guy Martin (motorbike legend, all-round good guy and presenter of ‘Speed With Guy Martin’) and Philip Glenister (formerly of ‘Life on Mars’ and current presenter of ‘For The Love Of Cars’).
According to the article, the news was overheard during a discussion between former Top Gear producer Andy Wilman and singer/car nut Jay Kay.
If the news transpires to be true, the future of the show will still hang in the balance. You need only look at the latest videos on Top Gear’s YouTube channel (sans Clarkson, Hammond and May) to see that viewers are unwilling to support the show and brand if the original trio are not part of it. YouTube comments include “What is the point of posting videos on this channel when the program is dead?” and “Seems like it’s missing something. Or someone” and the like to dislike ratio is seriously in the red.
If Top Gear does continue with these new presenters (each one in their own right very entertaining), will you be watching?
