Toyota UK Has Recreated The Classic And Legendary Tamiya R/C Hilux Bruiser... In Life Size
Toyota UK has been producing some magnificent shareable content lately. The giant GT86 logo written in tyre ink by a drift champ comes to mind right off the bat, but this might, might be even cooler.
CTzens with an affinity for Tamiya models might remember the awesome Toyota Hilux Bruiser. It was a mighty model that could headline any R/C car fanatic’s collection, but now the company has built a real one. And we want it.
It’s a life-size replica of the remote-control beast, aside from the fact that it’s based on the current Hilux, not the classic third-gen version used for the model. There’s a giant on-off switch, a huge, detachable aerial sticking up from behind the cab, and even a bonnet clip. Remember how easily those damned things used to go missing?
A louvred rear window, big, chunky tyres and the same graphics mirror the model Bruiser as closely as possible. Come on, how much do you want this truck? It’s lots, isn’t it. We’ll fight you for it if we have to…

RIP Sedans and Hatchbacks
I am a man of many words…. Hell yeah.

Adult Toy
I like how they even put the clips and the screws that hold on the body onto the real car. Tamiya actually has a number of 1:1 scale cars in their museum, including a Wild Willy, a Fast Attack Vehicle and of course the Sand Scorcher. They also have an original Tyrrell P34 in their museum. This Hilux will look great next to them.
Well, the Hilux is more of a hommage than an actual 1:1 replica
If only it was a GT-R……
(Oh wait they did it already)
That must be fun driving
Normally, these decals would look a bit odd on a normal, runabout truck…but strangely enough they fit right in when in a recreation like this.
