The Trackmania series gained popularity without conforming to the norm in racing games. Each game in the series aims to wow its players with unbelievable tracks that seem to defy gravity. The first Trackmania, released for the first time twelve years ago, features only three environments and three game modes. The big kicker was, and always will be, the Trackbuilder. This feature allows players to create their own tracks and share them online with minimal effort.

The new Trackmania Turbo will be released in late November this year. It still has the iconic Trackbuilder, but now with even more design options. With just a few simple controls, players will be able to add background and track pieces that can be manipulated into as many turns, hills, jumps and loops as desired. As always, players can save and share their tracks online. This means that after racing the 200 tracks included in the game, there will still be a limitless supply of new tracks, thanks to the developers and a community of Trackmania fans.

At the start of the game, players can select from Single Player Campaign mode, Multiplayer, Double Driver and Track Editor. In the Campaign Mode, players begin racing on low difficulty tracks, progressing to more advanced tracks that unlock as they conquer each race. The Double Driver mode is something entirely new to this series. Players will team up with a mate and use two controllers to drive one car. Both players must steer around obstructions in the track in sync to avoid collision.

Environments

The 200 tracks are set among four environments, each with their own special characteristics. In Canyon Drift, it’s all about drifting through narrow tracks in a fictional North American red canyon. Dirt Valley is a countryside setting packed with jumps. It’s all about maintaining control while you fly through these hills. In the International Stadium setting, players will race through jumps and sharp turns against other skilled drivers in the ultimate competition. The magnetic tracks in Lagoon Rollercoaster will allow you to race in ways you never thought possible while you get vertical and up-side-down in this tropical beach setting.

Some Advice

Trackmania Turbo Is An Insane Arcade Stunt Racer For Open-Minded Gamers

Trackmania Turbo is not for everyone. It is crazy fun, but he high speed racing combined with the twisty, jumpy, loopy tracks is enough to make you dizzy.

However, anyone who wants to give it a shot can learn the simple controls in seconds. Like all Trackmania titles, this one is 100 per cent arcade style. You can restart the track without penalty as many times as you like when you’ve made a mistake from which you can’t recover. If you’re a hardcore ‘simulator only’ type of gamer, loosen up. I prefer simulation over arcade any day, but sometimes it’s just about having old school arcade racing fun. Check out some previous Trackmania titles, and get back to laughing out loud while you race.

Trackmania Turbo hits PC, PS4 and Xbox One in late November. Pre-ordering is already open.
