In the thrilling, high-speed world of drag racing, it’s not uncommon for crashes to occur. However, it’s not often you see both competing cars get into trouble on the strip at the same time, but that’s what happened at the NHRA Drag Racing Series event in Brainerd, Minnesota last weekend.

Monte Green was the first to lose control, hitting the wall and sending his car into a destructive barrel roll. Don Kritzky lost control just after, resulting in a shocking crash which ended in a fireball. Green was treated at the track, but Kritzky had to be airlifted to a hospital in Minneapolis, where it was revealed he had a shattered pelvis, broken hip and broken lower right leg.

Kritzky will of course be out of action for a few months, so his family has set up this funding page to help cover his medical costs and loss of income.
