The Very First 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt Sold For $300,000
We don’t know exactly how much the drool-worthy new Ford Mustang Bullitt will cost, but it hopefully shouldn’t be a vast amount more than the $35,095 charged for the standard V8 GT. After all, its changes amount to some (admittedly rather cool) cosmetic upgrades and a healthy bump in power, and not much else.
The first one however went for quite a bit more than the GT. No, scratch that - a lot more: $300,000. Or if you’d prefer, the price of almost nine GTs.
That’s because Mustang Bullitt Vin 001 was auctioned off for charity at last Friday’s Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, with all proceeds from the generous bidder going to California Boys Republic, a school and ‘treatment community’ for at-risk youths.
Boys Republic was chosen as the beneficiary because Steve McQueen - star of 1968 film that inspired the car - attended the school himself, graduating in 1946.
The remaining Bullitt-edition Mustangs will go on sale this summer.
