Vettel's Seagull Face-Off Was The Best Part Of The Canadian GP

Sebastian Vettel gate-crashed a post-race Lewis Hamilton interview to complain about two seagulls on the track during the Canadian GP, which caused him to run wide and lose time – the conversation made for great TV!

Lewis Hamilton won the 2016 Canadian Grand Prix from Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. After the race, during an interview with Hamilton on Sky F1, Vettel decided to join in and complain about losing time due to a pair of seagulls on the circuit at Turn 1.

After going through the race footage, Sky eventually found the clip. But the conversation, jokes and the actual fact he was telling the truth made for great TV viewing. Here’s a snap of the very subject of the Hamilton/Vettel interview:

It was pretty much the best bit of the Canadian Grand Prix, which was otherwise a fairly unexciting race…

Is it not indicative that something’s wrong with a sport when a bit of spontaneity post race sets social media alight?

Vettel should have taken advice from Andrea Iannone before the race
