But which of your £50,000+ cars do you whip out of the garage when the weather is a little more mischievous? While the Boxster S and Cayman are on point to drive in dry conditions, they are ultimately rear-wheel-drive machines. And this is where the latest Porsche 911 Carrera 4 steps into the fray.
With its 3.8-litre engine cranking out 400 horsepower, this is a car which would be tricky at best to drive in icy conditions. However, as you might have guessed from the name, this is an all-wheel-drive beauty capable of instantly calculating where traction is needed and sending power from the rear to the front axle to compensate.
