The Volvo Concept Estate Is A Sexy Shooting Brake You Want But Can't Have
We've had the Coupe and the XC Coupe, and now it's the turn of the Concept Estate. It's the last in a group of three concept cars that showcase Volvo's new design language, and we like the direction the Swedish carmaker is taking.
This one is a shooting brake-style four-seater coupe. Visually, it's closer to the Coupe than the XC Coupe, but there are clear links to both cars: those T-shaped LED headlights, the prominent grille, and the slender C-shaped rear light clusters.
The interior is drastically un-cluttered. There's a large display screen dominating the centre console, and very few buttons around it. Up top, there's a panoramic roof to give light to the interior, which is apparently inspired by a Scandinavian living room. The designers may have gone a little too far, as there's even what appears to be wood flooring...
The Concept Estate will be displayed in the metal at next month's Geneva motorshow. The first production car to receive this new design language will be the long-awaited XC90 replacement.
