A Volvo Estate With Off-Road Tech Is Our Kind Of Swedish Cool
What do you get when you cross Volvo’s V60 estate with the XC60 SUV? The answer, as you’ve no doubt guessed, is this: the V60 Cross Country. We know it’s probably not very CT, but we rather like it.
It’s all-wheel drive as standard, comes with suspension that is “up to 75mm higher than the regular V60,” suggesting adjustable air springs, and you also get baubles like hill descent, stability and corner traction control on top of a dedicated off-road driving mode.
It’s yours to buy outright soon after prices are announced later this year, or you can rent one as part of the Care by Volvo package, where customers can pick and choose the car they want, for whatever length of time, and enjoy a high-end ‘ownership’ service to look after it.
In the UK the only engine option at launch will be a D4 diesel. Volvo says that two hybrid versions will follow; one will be a plug-in variant using existing battery and motor tech. Cross Country will be a trim grade in itself, alongside Momentum, R-Design and Inscription.
Dual-zone climate control, LED headlights, cruise control, automatic windscreen wipers and rear parking sensors will be standard. Volvo’s expansive safety suite will be present and correct, too, spanning City Safety with Autobrake, Run-off Mitigation, Oncoming Lane Mitigation and, optionally, Cross Traffic Alert.

10000% better than an impractical smallish crossover.
I like how in all the pictures the Volvo is spotless even though the shoot is to show it off-roading 😂
That’s because the boot is so big, that you can fit an entire car wash in there 😄
Dying to know what the R-Design pack looks like on this…
On most SUVs the sports design package consists of slightly lowered ride height and plastic trim in body color. Since this is essentially a lifted V60 with black plastic trim, the R-Design pack on it might just look like a regular V60
Get rid of the plastic and we have the best looking wagon
It’s already been done
Frick this is actually kinda cool
So its basically a Swedish version of TG’s Project E-AT? Nice
Since it’s a Volvo, it’s nearly indestructible
Hahaha, no. This is chinese crap.
The old ones are indestructible tho(200/700/900)
Yes. Please.
I don’t know if I like this or the V90 CC better. I could probably afford this one better though
I like the this one better. The V90 looks kinda weird lifted
Imma just leave this here…
