The Volvo V60 Polestar Is The Coolest WTCC Safety Car Ever
Volvo will replace Alfa Romeo (which has fielded the 4C as the series safety car since 2014) by signing a long-term agreement to supply the safest and coolest ever WTCC safety car.
While the standard V60 Polestar received a five-star Euro NCAP rating, more modifications were needed to pass the tough safety regulations set by the FIA, including a roll cage, rescue equipment and a comms system.
Volvo is competing in the WTCC this year with Cyan Racing, which will run two S60 Polestar TC1s. Cyan Racing is involved in the V8 Supercar series and the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, where it has won the last three championships.
The V60 Polestar safety car and TC1 race car will both appear at the opening round of the WTCC this weekend at Paul Ricard.

Using a tank with a few custom blue parts here and there, is not new in the safety department…
