Volvo's New XC90 Has Been Given Added R-Design Sexiness
Volvo’s much-anticipated new XC90 SUV was at last revealed last month, but if it doesn’t quite have enough flair for your tastes, we recommend you give the new R-Design version a look. As on other Volvo models, R-Design is a trim package rather than a dedicated model, available with all the XC90’s different engine options.
Go for the R-Design trim, and you get a front spoiler, a sportier looking exhaust, silver roof rails, matt silver mirror covers, and a set of chunky 20-inch alloy wheels. On the inside - which Volvo hasn’t revealed images of just yet - are some sports seats, illuminated door sills, flashier pedals, and a new set of paddle shifters for the steering wheel, which is now in perforated leather. Because nothing says sporty like perforated leather, of course. This transformation is only skin deep, however; everything underneath is as-per the regular XC90.
The new XC90 will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show next month, with UK sales beginning in Spring 2015.
