VW's New Race App Lets You Geek Out Over Telemetry On Your Phone

If you’re the sort of person that wants some data to use when bragging to your mates about a recent track day (and you own a relatively new VW), this might be worth a look. Dubbed the ‘Race App’, it all works via a ‘LogBox’, which costs €299 plus installation and can be fitted by your local VW dealer.

This device links up with a corresponding mobile phone app via Bluetooth, sending over a package of data which includes boost pressure, speed and engine output. There’s also a record function that’ll note down your lap times and let you watch back the footage with all the juicy info overlayed.
