Want To Know What The New Mustang V8 Sounds Like? Hint: It Sounds Badass
By now you know what the new Mustang looks like, and you've probably debated whether a true 'Stang can ever have an engine named 'EcoBoost'. Well, if you had any doubts about the dilution of its muscle car status, fear not: the V8 version rumbles like a badass.
This video was recorded at a Cars and Coffee event in Irvine, California. It gives us a great chance to see the galloping pony out in the wild, and get a feel for the styling in a real world setting. Alongside its predecessors, the new 'Stang looks like an aggressive caricature of what it means to be a muscle car. It is big, imposing and moves the iconic styling on without losing touch with its heritage.
The video is a little protracted, but the important bits are the key-turn at the beginning, as the V8 clears its throat and settles on a meaty idle, and the high-rev kicks at 1 minute 50 seconds.
The car on display is the 420bhp 5.0-litre V8 that sits at the top of the range. There's also a 3.7-litre V6 making upwards of 300bhp, and the 2.3-litre EcoBoost, making 305bhp, which will likely be the most popular powerplant in Europe thanks to the high cost of petrol.
So what do you think? Do you look forward to hearing this thing's guttural scream echoing along canyon roads?
