Watch A Cop Squeeze This Biker Against A Barrier During A Botched Traffic Stop

The incident caught in the video above is currently under investigation by Florida Highway Patrol after the uploader accused a cop of sideswiping a biker during a traffic stop.

According to WTSP, Sgt. Spencer Ross was attempting to pull the biker over after he ran through a toll and was speeding on State Road 408. A citizen filmed the incident, which FHP claimed was caused by the biker slowing suddenly. It said its preliminary review indicated Ross made no attempt to deliberately sideswipe the biker, but confirmed the incident was being looked at.

It’s impossible to know if the cop really was trying to sideswipe the biker, or just got himself in a sticky situation. It’s also impossible to determine whether the officer tried to evade being filmed, as the uploader claims. Either way, this seems like a needlessly aggressive manoeuvre, especially considering the fact that Sgt. Ross was in an unmarked vehicle, which many drivers do not feel safe pulling over for.

It remains to be seen whether Ross is punished for his driving, but we’d suggest in future he shows a little more restraint.
