Watch Doug DeMuro Lose His Mind Over The Spyker C8 Spyder's Quirks
You don’t have to watch many Doug DeMuro videos to understand the man’s Modus Operandi. It’s all about finding an interesting car, and looking for its interesting quirks. And few cars are quite as quirky as the Spyker C8 Spyder the man takes a look at here.
It’s weird enough that this is a supercar made by a Dutch company (one frequently flirting with financial disaster) that takes its name from an old aircraft-building firm. But the more you investigate, the stranger it gets.
Take the rear lights: they’re from a Lamborghini Diablo. Then there’s the steering wheel: in some models it’s a beautifully designed item intended to look like a propeller, but in this particular example uses one borrowed from Lotus. Also in the cabin there’s a stunning exposed gear linkage, quilted leather wrapping almost everything, and toggle switches. Lots of toggle switches.
We’re really not sure how Doug is going to top the quirkiness of this one…

Watch Doug DeMuro butcher the word “Aluminium” for 27 minutes
we say aluminum in the states, not aluminium. one letter difference changes the word
This is one of my favourite cars ever. I was so taken with the Laviolette and it’s exposed linkage.
