Watch A Dragster Blow Up Right In Front Of A Cameraman's Face
A videographer luckily escaped injury when a dragster at Alaska Raceway Park suffered a supercharger explosion right in front of him
As we’ve seen many times before, when something goes wrong in the world of drag racing, the results are usually rather dramatic. That’s certainly the case here, where one videographer was a little too close when proceedings went awry at Alaska Raceway Park last month.
Racer John Dixon’s ‘Trophy Hunter’ suffered a massive supercharger explosion, with what looks like a part of the casing flying just over the head of the guy filming this terrifying video.
Fortunately, both he and Dixon were reported to be uninjured.

I knew what was going to happen, I knew it was only a video…
But it scared me and made me jump on my seat
That guy must be made out of Volvo’s: I just can’t believe he survived that with no injuries
Richard “Hamster” Hammond, is that you?
You could see the engine not burning the NOS the right way, of course seeing NOS backfire (blue flames) isn’t unusual, but that much and so often was already a sign of sh*t about to go bad. Why? I’m a mechanic. Any engine, either tuned or not shouldn’t backfire at idle, ever.
