Watch Eight Fast Fords Do Battle In A Staggered One-Lap Race
Do you ever wonder what would happen if you took eight fast Fords to a race track, staggered their start times to let the slower cars start sooner, and then had a race? No, nor us, but Ford has gone and done it anyway.
Eight models from the company’s meaty portfolio of quick cars went to the Motorland circuit near Barcelona, from the F-150 Raptor to the GT racer, for a one-lap, 3.3-mile time trial between some very different machines, all with pro drivers at the wheel.
The Raptor, as the slowest track car of the eight, left the start line 11 seconds before the next car, the outgoing 2017 Fiesta ST. Two seconds after that the new Fiesta ST gets going, then it’s another five seconds before a Focus RS sets off, three more seconds to the Mustang GT, and then the bigger gaps arrive.
Between the Mustang GT and a GT350R there’s 10 seconds, then a further seven seconds’ wait until a road-going GT hits the gas. Finally, a 10-second gap leaves the GT race car alone on the ‘grid’, until, 48 seconds after the Raptor started, it launches its pursuit.
We won’t tell you the finishing order, or which two cars nearly make contact on the final corner, so place your bets and enjoy.

where’s the Focus ST?
I wonder why Ford keeps forgot a legend, the Falcon XR8/GT.
Is they trying to deny existence of these epic legends?
Because it’s not from the US.
But where’s the Ford Edge ST?!?!?! Stop marginalizing fast crossovers 😠
It probably wasn’t ready
2 Fiestas but no Edge ST, Focus ST, Fusion Sport, or Taurus SHO…
We need more of these, now! Id love to see one with AMG’s, from the g wagon and cla through the amg gt, the race version and the mercades F1 car. Wouldnt that be amazing to watch.
Where’s the Falcon?
Oh wait…
Wish the falcon was there…
That ending shot reminds me of the Ford Racing 2 cover
They did not include the latest suv st
