The world of Touge is pretty crazy. The 'sport' that gave birth to drifting, it requires balls of steel to negotiate mountain passes at high speed, bumper to bumper with your opponent.

The Japanese gave it to the world, so it's perhaps apt that this awesome battle is from the Land of the Rising Sun. Entitled 'Battle of the Green Monsters', this is the final part of the 'Hot Version Touge Showdown 2011', pitting a Subaru Impreza against a Mazda RX-7.

It's impressive to see the way the drivers hustle their vehicles down the narrow mountain pass, particularly highlighting the different characteristics of each car. The Impreza is AWD, so it suffers pretty serious understeer in the tighter corners, but accelerates impressively as all four tyres hook up. The RX-7 on the other hand rips up the tighter corners, with the driver's ballsy all-in approach to the fast section making up for anything lost out of a corner.
