Watch A Koenigsegg Agera RS Hit 284mph In Stunning Onboard Footage
Like many people, we were wondering just what kind of peak speed was achieved during Koenigsegg’s record-breaking run with an Agera RS. After all, the 277.9mph figure - which makes the Agera RS the world’s fastest production car - was an average of two runs.
Now we have our answer: 284.3mph. No, that’s not a mistake. Koenigsegg factory test driver Niklas Lilja hit the incredible speed on a closed road in Nevada on the second run that’s shown in this video, having hit 272mph on the run before. You might find yourself fixating on the speedometer on first viewing, so we’d recommend giving it a second watch to see just how fast the scenery is moving past - it’s mind-blowing stuff.
The Swedish hypercar firm confirmed on Twitter earlier today that the Agera’s factory-fitted Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s were used for the run, but other than that, we don’t know a huge amount about the feat - full details are expected to be revealed soon. For now, you can consider our hats well and truly doffed to Lilja and Koenigsegg.

The car accelerate faster after 300kph than it is from 0-300, wich left me wonder: do they really want to sell a car that probably spin it wheels till 250kph to non racing drivers?
Yes, yes they do
He went slow until 300 for safety reasons, since he was on a public highway.
That is PixelCarRacer level.
Good to see they like to challenge each other at all moments, now to wait for the next out of this world car
284 mph… i mean, it is obvious why you have to take a 2-way average, to cancel out wind etc., so it was in favour of the speed in this direction , but that’s quite the speed to go. that really takes some fine engineering and a big pair of… yeah, to pull that off.
He only puts his foot down beyond 180mph! Below that he’s just cruising!
and also a 33 second 0-400-0
impressive
And it did it without nonsense electric hybrid stuff. #PUREINTERNALCOMBUSTION5EVER #5EVERBECAUSEITSLONGERTHAN4EVER
Imagine Jeremy sticking his head out the window at 480 km/h
