Watch Max Verstappen Throw Some Shapes In The New Aston Vantage
With the debut of the new Aston Martin Vantage looming, Aston Martin has kindly given us a little preview. In it, we find out something not at all shocking: it drifts rather nicely. Especially if a rather handy driver is at the wheel, as is the case here.
Said handy driver is Red Bull F1 driver Max Verstappen (Aston Martin will become Red Bull Racing’s title sponsor in 2018, don’t forget), who predictably has no trouble shredding the rearmost tyres of this partially-disguised Vantage.
We also get a good chance to hear the new sports car. And while it can’t quite match the sonorousness of Aston’s outgoing 4.7-litre, naturally-aspirated V8, the AMG-derived 4.0-litre unit does still make a damn good din. It sounds rather different to any Mercedes-AMG, too.
The car will be revealed on 21 November.

“I’m in love with the shape of you”🎶🎶
Me to every Aston Martin on earth
Every Aston?
R.I.P 4.7L naturally aspirated V8. You were one of the best sounding V8s my ears ever had the pleasure of hearing. At least the 4.0L twin turbo sounds pretty good, so your death is not in vain.
Yeah! I’m surprised at how good it sounds for a turbo (non-tuner) engine.
Can it dr… Nvm, it’s beautiful
drools uncontrollably
Warning not to slide on wet floor
Non car people be like: But F1 drivers can only drive formulas I can drive a real car better than them blablalablalablalablala…
No! If they couldn’t control a car well they would’ve been dead in their first corner in an F1 car… BTW… Sounds great, the best sounding factory turbo V8 period! But shame N/A engines are used less and less…
Yeah those people are really annoying . Tbh you have to very very stupid to think someone who drives 1000hp+ cars that weigh only 728kgs and pull 6+gs regularly with no driver aids for 1 and a half hours can’t control a road car well.
i want it
He threw shapes like The 2016 election threw shade
“Ahead of the reveal of the new Aston Martin Vantage, Red Bull F1 driver Vertappen was handed the keys to one”
Typo alert Matt
I think Max has given us a good VANTAGE point on how the new Aston handles.
Aston Martin improved an AMG engine noise. They’re brilliant!
