Watch The New Audi R8 Get A Damn Good Thrashing At The Nurburgring

Although this prototype is heavily disguised, it doesn't look as though Audi has changed the overall shape of its mid-engined supercar much. Under the skin, however, the R8 has received a major overhaul. Many of the body panels are now made from carbonfibre, and the material has also been used for part of the chassis, reducing overall weight. Customers will still have the choice of either a 4.2-litre V8 or 5.2-litre V10, but both engines are expected to be reworked for a slight boost in power. The new R8 will be unveiled next year.
